ecobee Releases SmartSensors

Earlier this month, ecobee launched its all-new room sensor—the SmartSensor. Paired seamlessly with ecobee SmartThermostat, SmartSensor provides additional temperature and occupancy readings wherever you place them throughout your home to enhance comfort and help you save when you’re away. Fully redesigned and complementary to any room décor, SmartSensor can be positioned on any flat surface by its magnetic base or be mounted to the wall. Tactile is honored and proud to be part of the design collaboration with ecobee. Hats off to ecobee and the design team!

Bike Everywhere Challenge

In May, Tactile hit the road with our bikes and participated in the 2019 Bike Everywhere Challenge. Although we had a small team, we logged over 1,300 miles! Whether it was commuting to/from work or a fun ride on the weekends, we enjoyed getting outdoors. For us, it’s a small step in reducing carbon emissions, a great way to experience the outdoors, and let’s be honest, we shed a few pounds while riding. Way to go team!

Women in Design Deep Dive Event

Earlier this month Tactile had the honor of sponsoring IDSA’s Women in Design Deep Dive in San Francisco. It was an incredible event listening to strong, talented women tell their stories about the struggles and accomplishments of working in an industry historically and predominantly inhabited by men. We look forward to continued progress for women in not only design but all industries. Let’s hear it for the ladies!

Anne Focke Arts Leadership Award

Last month Tactile proudly sponsored the Anne Focke Arts Leadership Award event offered by the School of Art + Art History + Design at the University of Washington to recognize individuals who pave the way for art, art history, or design to enliven and strengthen the community through their visionary and active leadership. This year we celebrated Steve Kaneko, an FIDSA, an alum of the School of Art + Art History + Design, and a Partner Director of Design at Microsoft. Winner of over 50 international design awards, Steve’s design of the Microsoft Mouse 2.0 is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He’s an avid supporter of emerging talent, providing pathways for growth to generations of young designers. Congrats Steve!
